How large should the Stealth Area be?¶
The exact size cannot be known in advance because every build generates different Virtual Machine and macro code. Even with the same architecture, such as FISH_WHITE, protected builds can differ by about 100 KB.
Start with a 1,000 KB Stealth Area and protect the application. Code Virtualizer reports the unused space. If 500 KB remains, reducing the area to about 600 KB leaves a reasonable margin. Increase it again if you later select a larger Virtual Machine or add more macros.
If the generated code does not fit, Code Virtualizer reports an error. Increase the Stealth Area, rebuild the application, and protect it again.
Alternatively, protect the application without Stealth Mode and use the reported increase in file size as an estimate. Add about 100 KB to that value when creating the Stealth Area.
